She Believes She Can CIC (SBSC) exists to prevent hidden homelessness among women by supporting those facing housing instability before it becomes a crisis

Our founder spent years navigating housing instability, then survived domestic abuse. She stayed longer than was safe, because housing insecurity made leaving feel impossible.
When homelessness followed, it didn’t look like sleeping on the streets. It looked like sofa-surfing, staying quiet, enduring unsafe situations, and holding it together on the surface while everything underneath was unravelling.
That’s hidden homelessness. It’s widespread, it’s misunderstood, and official systems rarely see it. Women are forced to choose between abuse and homelessness - then turned away because their situation doesn’t fit the definition of need.

OUR PURPOSE
Founded in 2023, She Believes She Can CIC exists to support women aged 18+ facing hidden homelessness including those staying in unsafe relationships or environments just to keep a roof over their heads- through trauma-informed and dignity-led support.

Since launch, SBSC has grown from a lived-experience vision into a trusted community organisation. We have secured funding from The National Lottery Community Fund and the GLL Physical Activity Inclusion Fund, delivered structured programmes supporting hundreds of women, and built strong partnerships across housing, health, wellbeing, and community sectors.
Our work consistently demonstrates one core truth: when women are met with belief, safety, and continuity, lasting change becomes possible.
